ACRP as the SAQA recognised professional body for religious professionals has the responsibility to introduce a Continued Professional Development (CPD) strategy.

Participation in CPD events registered with ACRP is compulsory for all ACRP designated affiliates. This is a direct consequence of the formal recognition as a professional.

The purpose of CPD is threefold:

  • To comply with the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) requirements.
  • It aims to systematically maintain, improve, develop and enhance knowledge, skills, ethical prowess and personal qualities which underpins competent and professional practice.
  • To keep affiliates who are professionally registered, up to date with new developments in their professional environment. Existing qualifications are often being revised as new ideas, developments and theories occur. It is essential for all registered designated affiliates to maintain high standards within the profession.

In order for CPD points to be applicable, participants must be formally registered as designated affiliates of ACRP. Designated affiliates are required to obtain a minimum of 20 CPD points annually. All CPD points older than 2 years will expire.
